Support Our Efforts
Why Donors Give
For the generations to come, the Lewis County Senior Citizens Center, Inc. will be here, continuing our commitment to the needs of senior citizens in Lewis County.
Maintaining excellence in all that we do directly depends on your support of our program. Gift provisions through your will, trust, life insurance, or other agreements, represent the future of the Senior Center and the ability to continue to address the needs of the people we serve.
Since our creation in 1971, many contributions have been made. Small and large, memorial and honorary gifts, undesignated and with a specific purpose, they all expressed a wish to help one another, to help the community, and to be part of a caring society.
Benefits of Gift Provision
As a donor, a number of options are available to help you realize your philanthropic goals. You make the decision on whether you want to focus your contributions on a specific area of service or would rather benefit the Center, as a whole, for future generations. You have the right to name funds given, determine the property to be given and select what type of planned giving best suits your purpose. You may even give anonymously.
Tax Benefits

The Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP) was established by the West Virginia Legislature in 1996 to increase charitable giving to local non-profit organizations. The program allows 501 (C)3 designated charitable organizations to apply for tax credit vouchers. These organizations then distribute the vouchers to businesses and individuals who contribute to the organizations. By donating to approved NIP organizations, contributors can support their communities and receive up to 50 percent of the contributed amount in credits to reduce the following West Virginia taxes: Corporate Net Income Tax, Business Franchise Tax, and Personal Income Tax.
